Nicole J. Kafka, MD, FACS, FASCRS
Nicole J. Kafka, MD is a Board-Certified General and Colon and Rectal Surgeon, with a practice limited to Colorectal Surgery. In practice since 1998, she is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Attending Surgeon at both Beth Israel Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Kafka received her undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard University and her medical degree from Cornell University. She completed her training in General Surgery at The New York Hospital and in Colon and Rectal Surgery at The Ferguson Clinic, in Grand Rapids, MI. She also completed Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Molecular and Cell Biology of Colon and Rectal Cancer at Thomas Jefferson University and in Pelvic Floor Physiology at The Lahey Clinic.
Dr. Kafka is a published author in her field. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, in which she serves on several committees. She is a past-Vice-President of the Women's Medical Association of New York City and a Council Member of the New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. She has been interviewed for print publications, and appeared on the radio and on television.
